Signs of Pond Deterioration
~ Fish kills -- or an unusually high number of scavengers (vultures) or predators
~ Unusual fish behavior (fish at surface gasping for air)
~ Build up on algae on pond surface,
or blue/green algae blooms more than one foot from the shore
~ Sudden change in water color to dark black and/or bad odors
